Freelancers’ earning good amount from foreign countries, but they don’t have social recognition on society. Where every traditional professions have government certifications, social recognitions but only freelancing there is no social recognitions. On information technology and on online world they have good reputation all over the world but they don’t have reputation on local area, because many of our local people don’t know a freelancer what actually doing on their PC and how and how much they are earning from his/her desk. Even everyone think about them they are unemployed, not doing anything, they are spoiling their life etc. So maximum freelancers facing problem to introduce themselves. They always have to tell others what is freelancing and how they are earning foreign currencies and how much they are earning. By providing social recognition, government should spread freelancing profession to our rural area, advised by freelancers.

May 7, 2014 afternoon at Meherpur District Commissioner’s conference room on Freelancer to Entrepreneur logo opening program well reputed Freelancer & entrepreneur Munshi Jahangir Zinnat told this. District Commissioner assured that he will talk with ICT ministry’s high level officers about this.

Like other district, Freelancer to Entrepreneur logo opening program held on Meherpur. Freelancer to Entrepreneur logo was opened by Meherpur District Commissioner Mahmud Hossain and MeherpurNews24.com’s chief editor Rafiqul Alam. Also ICT Ministry’s Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan was live via Video Conference.

Government Employees, Reporters and Meherpur District’s Freelancers were attended on that program.

All the times Unique Soft BD is really cordial about arranging various events to motivate the freelancers. It has arranged various events like picnic in April and meet-up during the Ramadan to motivate them. To continue the process our Chairman, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok) posted on his Facebook page on 10 July 2014 and mentioned that this time our special attraction will be a cricket match: https://www.facebook.com/MunshiJahangirZinnat/posts/881542215193510.

At that time he did not mention the date of the game but he shared the idea about the teams of the game.

On 30 July 2014, he redeclared that the date of the game has been decided and it’s at 8 am on 1st August. The venue of the game was Chandbill Government Primary School field, https://www.facebook.com/MunshiJahangirZinnat/posts/892834710730927.

MeherpurNews24.com was invited for the game. Majidul Haque Manik of MeherpurNews24.com accepted the invitation to play with the freelancers.

However, the expected 1st August came and all of us were ready for the game. Though the time was given 8 am but all players reached the field at 9am. Firstly the decision was making 8 teams but due to lack of time 4 teams were made.

The teams were-

• MeherpurNews24.com, Captain- Majedul Haque Manik
• Web Developer team, Captain-Taifur Rahman
• Marketing team, Captain- Sumon Reza
• Special team, Captain-Munshi Jahangir Zinnat (Hirok)

It was decided that the game will be knock out system and it would be 10 overs match. The first match will be played between MeherpurNews24.com and Web Developer team and the second match will be played between Marketing team and Special Team. The winners of these two matches will play the final match.

In the first match, MeherpurNews24.com won the toss and decided to bat first. But in the beginning of the match the situation became really tough. In the first few overs they lost all of their top order batsmen. Though later they recovered the game but reached only 50 runs. Then Web Developer team came to bat and lost 4 wickets within first two overs. After that Tareq came to bat and took the team to the winning position. Though the winning six was hit by Rubel and his team won the match by 5 wickets.

In the second match, the Special team won the toss and decided to bat first. But they also faced huge crisis at the beginning of the game. Then Sumon, Rimon amd Jakaria took the responsibility and took the team to 51 runs in total. However, Marketing team came to bat but Jakaria became very dangerous for them as he took two wickets in his first over and another two wickets in his second over. Finally the Marketing team became successful to overcome the situation and reached to the winning position. They won the game by only one wicket.

The final match started between Marketing team and Web Developer team. The captain of Web Developer team won the toss and decided to field first. The Marketing team faced huge pressure from the beginning of their batting and they had to close their innings with only 30 runs. Then Web Developer team also passed hard time at the time of their batting as reached 15 runs losing 8 wickets. They needed 13 runs from the last over. Iman Hossain came as the last batsman and did something exceptional. He took 6 runs from the first ball, 4 runs from the second ball and another 6 runs from the third ball and in this way he took his team to the winning position.

Winning the final match the Web Developer team got 500 taka as the prize money and the Marketing team got 300 taka prize money for becoming the runner-up. The decision of the picnic was cancelled to maximize the excitement of the game. Every team expressed its interest to play in the future. It’s a matter of great disappoint that the freelancers who earns huge amount of Foreign currency by their work and have done a great contribution in national growth don’t have any social reorganization. The entire traditional job holders in Bangladesh have recognition but the freelancer does not have any GOVT authorization. In the world of information technology freelancer have both fame and respect but matter of fact that the circumstance at Bangladesh is totally different, they get humiliated when they introduce themselves as freelancer.

At May 11th a ceremony held at Meherpur to inaugurate the logo of Freelancer to entrepreneur at Meherpur District Commissioner meeting room. At that meeting present freelancer appeals for social recognition of their job, the appeals was raised by the nationwide recognized freelancer Munshi Jahangir Zinnat, he also suggest that by giving the reorganization we can spread this opportunities to rural area of Bangladesh.

The logo inauguration ceremony was done by District Commissioner Mahmud Hossen and President of MeherpurNews24.com editors. At the ceremony District Commissioner assure that he will raise the appeals to the higher authority of Bangladesh Government.

The Secretary of ICT ministry Mr. N I Khan was present at the ceremony through video conference.

Freelancer form whole district were present at that time. The meet up was successful and inspiring.

Opening of “freelancer to entrepreneur” program was held at Meherpur on last Sunday by district commissioner MD. Mahmud Hossain along with Freelancers, Bank, NGO and News Correspondence was present at the conference hall.

Renowned freelancer, entrepreneur and founding director of Unique Soft BD, Munshi Jahangir Zinnat stated on the conference hall that there is no social acceptance of freelancers though they are playing important role in remittance. He added that there is no certification for freelancer while other professions are respected throughout the country. Freelancing as a profession is widely recognized and respected in the era of information and technology but we feel embarrassed admitting freelancing as a profession because of the ignorance of most of the peoples. He raised a proposal of getting acknowledged and respected by the countrymen as a freelancer on behalf of district’s freelancer.

D.C MD. Mahmud Hossain assured that the sole proposal will be recommended to the ICT ministry and other high officials. ICT ministry secretary Nozrul Islam Khan was acknowledged by DC while video conference that five freelancer to entrepreneur will be built in every districts and three banks will assist them in Meherpur by giving loan. Govt. officials are permitted to join in this program. Quality and working in timely manner was the concern of the conference.
